Departing Auckland at 7am. A fuller more comprehensive tour of our most famous destination.
Travelling south we leave the Bombay Hills, to enter the rich dairy farming region of the Waikato, stopping at Matamata for morning tea. We cross over the Kaimai Mamaku Ranges with it's unique volcanic land forms to Rotorua, visiting Rainbow Springs, a nature park of native fauna and flora. Including the Kiwi and the Tuatara (the oldest living relative to the dinasaurs).
We drive by Lake Rotorua, the Government Gardens & Bathhouse on our way to Te Puia Thermal Reserve for lunch at the Pohutu Café. Menu choice includes traditional Maori chicken Hangi. Vegetarian and gluten free options also available. Your guided tour of this unique geothermal wonderland with it’s geysers, silica terraces, mud pools & fumeroles starts at 1pm. An entertaining Maori Cultural Performance is also included. We continue our Rotorua sights by visiting the Blue & Green Lakes and Lake Tarawera, viewing Mt Tarawera before departure to Auckland. Eta 7:30pm.

Waitomo Caves
Follows Tour 2A to Rotorua, visiting Rainbow Springs, Rotorua lake front, Government Gardens & Bathhouse. Lunch included, before a guided tour of Te Puia Thermal Reserve.
Then across to Waitomo and your guided tour. There you'll witness the constellations of tiny shining glow worms, it's magnificant cathedral and intriguing stalagmites & stalactites, emerging from this limestone grotto by boat. then a tea break before heading back to Auckland.

Day 2...
Departs Rotorua 8.30 am on day two of T2C to Wai-O-Tapu, New Zealand's most colourful geothermal area, and Lady Knox Geyser. We'll visit the Huka Falls, (optional jet boat ride), Honey Hive, and Wairakei Geothermal lookout, before arriving in Taupo beside the Great Lake. Bungy jump optional. then on to the Waitomo Caves with a 45 minute guided tour.
